and what a christmas present!

What a past couple months! I got notice on Nov 1 that my daycare child was not going to be back for Sept and then Nov 6 D got laid off from his job. 

What an interesting couple of months. Between D helping out others here and there, handing out a bunch of resumes and wondering what was  going to happen, it was an intense time!

Then D missed a phone call from a company "up North" that his friend had put in for him. A couple days later they called back and a few days before Christmas we got an awesome early Christmas present! They offered him a job. Of course they offered it to him a few days before Christmas, and he had to leave a few days after, it was a very crazy and intense time!

Guess What!?!?!?!

B lost her first tooth today!

I had to twist and pull a little bit, but the tooth has been super wiggly for a while and it needed to come out as the adult tooth was coming up behind it.

She's super proud of her lost tooth!

It's sitting in her "Tooth Fairy Box" just waiting for tonight's arrival!

Haircuts!!

Both the girls got haircuts! I did C's myself as she only needed 3 tiny little snips in the back, B had accidentally stuck her sucker in C's hair and we just couldn't get the bottom looking nice again. It cleaned up the bottom of C's hair but isn't super noticable.

B also got her hair cut. She got about 6 inches cut off this time! It went from the middle of her back to just above her shoulders!

A new "year"!

B started her second year of school today and while she has to go back to her "old" Kindy classroom it's the start of GRADE ONE!

Got the bug...

the camping bug that is. We had much fun camping with family this weekend at the beach! Lots of sand, sun and cards!

Maybe one day in the future a trailer is in our future...

Beach fun!

The girls and I decided to head to the beach for the morning!

It's wasn't particulary sunny, but it was warm and not too cloudy. We had a blast playing in the sand, jumping the waves as the tide came in and throwing rocks into the water.

When we were getting into the car B turned to me and said "Mom, you always know what will make us happy..." Awww I love her!

Not-So-Secertly, the beach makes me super happy too! I swear it's the cure to anything!

They grow too fast...

Today at 7:34am my little girl turned 6!

Party!

B had her birthday party today!

First we had a family breakfast with pancakes, fruit salad and our favorite Applewood Smoked Bacon. She got showered with many lovely gifts and we had some mini chocolate cupcakes with a buttercream swirl icing and little buttercream drop flowers so we could sing "Happy Birthday".

Then when our family headed home we finished setting up the backyard and getting ready for her friends to come over. 9 of her friends came and splashed in the splash pool, jumped on the trampoline, threw themselves down the slip and slide and made up games! We also did a take-home-craft instead of goodies bags and the kids got to color and design their "very own" coffee mug. They were all super excited to have their own mug! She again got some wonderful gifts and was so happy to spend time with all of her friends at once! We had more of the mini cupcakes and I made B the cake she had asked for... A Princess Castle!

It was a great, tiring and fun day!

Party!

Today is C's Birthday!

She's 3, and now I no longer have a "baby"!

We did an early pancake breakfast for the family and she got spoiled with many wonderful gifts! Then her friends came over and we had a "Bear" party where we got to choose and stuff and name and cloth our new stuffed animals!

Then the kids went and played in the backyard for a little bit.

C also got the cake she wanted! A Dora cake!

After everyone went home, we went out to dinner with Grandpa and Grammie and Uncle Puddleneck. Then we came home and D decided it was a good time to start putting together the trampoline the girls got as a joint birthday gift.

Halarity ensued as putting together a trampoline is NOT easy... Eventually we had to call in U.P. to help and D and U.P. got the springs put on. Tomorrow we'll finish the posts and net...

RUBY MAE is coming home today!

We are going to get our new puppy and then pick up the girls from Aunties' house! They are going to be so excited!

Da, dum, du dum!

D and I are going out by ourselves tonight! We are getting dressed up and going to the wedding of T.J. and G.W. ! I can't believe T is finally getting married!

The wedding is at the beautiful St. Ann's Acadamy! And the reception is going to be at the Union Club. I have never been but I hear it is an "Old Boy's Club". Can't wait to see it.

First we have a couple errands to run though!

And we have a name!

We have finally come up with a name for our new little girl puppy!

Ruby Mae

B wanted a "sparkly" name and I kept being given all of these "rules" about naming a dog.

She was born on a Sunday in May (May 15th 2011) and the Ruby is Sunday's Birthstone.

So the name works in many many different ways. B got her "sparkly" jewel name, it fits all of the rules and she's named after when she was born. And while we will most likely just call her Ruby, I needed a middle name to call the odd time she is being naughty ;)

... and we are getting a new...

PUPPY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She's absolutely adorable! Her mom is Bichon/Yorkie and her dad is Maltese/Yorkie so she will be a Morkie Chon!

She comes home in a couple weeks.

Happy Anniversary D!

Coming out of retirement...

Well that was short lived ;)

But I am officially "retired" (as D likes to call it) no more!

I have found two wonderful kids from a wonderful family to join us for our daily adventures and I couldn't be happier to start my new job!

Glasses!

Today was B's 6 month follow up at the eye doctor. She had some iffy results the last time we were there and to doctor was hoping that she would outgrow the problem.

However the doctor we saw today confirmed what the first doctor had found. B has a slight astigmatism in her right eye and is also slightly far-sighted. And while it hasn't gotten worse, it hasn't gotten better. And the doctor says that the longer we leave it the more that her left eye will work and her right eye will become weak and the problem will become much worse.

So B's getting glasses! And she picked out a purple pair with flowers on the arms. They should be in in the next couple weeks and then she will have to get used to wearing them! She is required to wear them "all the time".

She's excited about it right now but we'll see when they actually come in!

Decisions, decisions...

We still haven't rented the suite. We had dropped the price, advertised as usual and only had one person through. Looking at what is out there it just seems like the rental market in our area is SUPER saturated right now and those looking have lots of choice.

We have thought about it many times and we have finally decided to convert the suite into a daycare space. I am looking for kids in the infant/toddler age range and I have been working hard on getting the suite set up and also getting contracts and a handbook in place.

I have had a couple people come through but no kids yet. I am optomistic that I will find the perfect family/families to fit in with our family. It's just a matter of being patient.

Biopsy Results...

So a month later and I finally have my biopsy results.

The doctor called and gave me the results over the phone, which was nice so that I didn't have to go all the way downtown to get them.
He told me that the results were postive for Celiac Disease and that trying a Gluten-Free diet was my only choice.

I now will wait for a dietician appointment and slowly start to learn what I can and can't eat.

My Birthday!

I am now 27! Eek!

I had a wonderful birthday. My inlaws took me out for dinner at one of my favorite steak restaurants and then the next night we had dinner at my parents. We ordered pizza from Costco (yum!) and mom made spareribs. And a yummy Angel food cake with strawberries for dessert!

I also got spoiled with gifts! The coveted cake decorating supply container, a couple really cool cake decorating books, some money!, some lotto tix and more!

100 days...

2 weeks until D goes to school and 2 days until my birthday.

Still trying to rent the suite. Unfortunately the rental market is oversaturated right now, but we have high hopes it will rent, as soon as possible.

Also I am starting to list some stuff on UV to try and declutter more and also try and make some extra cash for when D does go to school. We've tried to stock up on some basics and buy the few gifts for Birthday's that are happening from now until he is done. May 20th can't come soon enough!

The kid's are doing well. B had her 100th day of school on Thursday, but because of the icy roads the teacher decided to leave celebrating until today. C's little personality is showing more and more each day. She is still very serious and shy when she first meets someone or she's feeling unsure, but once she warms up and decides everything is ok, you quickly see the happy and very determined little spirit she is.

Biopsy Day...

Today is Biopsy Day!

I am going in for a small bowel biopsy to see if I have Celiac Disease.

It will be done under conscious sedation and hopefully we will only be there for a couple hours. D is coming with me as I am not able to drive myself home after the conscious sedation.
